FireXML Integration Suite

A significant challenge facing many enterprise organisations today is how to combine their existing IT infrastructure with the new opportunities afforded by the internet, intranet and extranet, and the linking of disparate systems in a cost effective manner. This is becoming increasingly popular through approaches like Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

This challenge falls into three separate areas, each of which is addressed by the FireXML Integration Suite from Maxima.

  1. How to make the data on the mainframe available to a browser and web server applications in a non-proprietary format - FireXML for DB2, FireXML for CA-Datacom and FireXML for CICS address this.
  2. How to integrate incoming XML formatted data and generate XML formatted data from mainframe DBMSs - the FireXML Extender options for CA-Datacom and DB2 achieve this.
  3. How to make the existing business logic on the mainframe accessible from web server or remote applications - FireXML for CICS, FireXML for CA-Ideal are practical solutions to this challenge, and are fully SOAP compliant for integrating the mainframe with true web services. FireXML Parser provides a powerful solution for exchanging data in XML and mainframe formats in batch processing and using standard file transfer methods such as FTP, MQ Series, XCOM, sendmail and EDI.

The FireXML Integration Suite has been developed by Maxima to solve EAI issues for enterprise systems, based on the real-world requirements of our clients.

The approach taken with FireXML is to use generic, non-proprietary standards like HTTP and XML, and to use existing system components. In doing this, FireXML is a solution that is implemented and usable in just a few hours, requires nominal ongoing administration and does not require ODBC or JDBC server products.
